Ladner Leisure Centre Envelope Upgrade
The Ladner Leisure Centre Natatorium project, commissioned by the City of Delta, involved a comprehensive upgrade to the facility’s exterior envelope and mechanical systems to enhance durability, performance, and the patron experience. This major Building renovation upgrade included extensive exterior work, with the replacement of multiple membrane roofing assemblies and refurbishment of the upper-level wall and glazing systems.
The City’s goal was to improve the long-term functionality of the building while ensuring an upgraded aesthetic. A key requirement was to enhance the building’s weather resistance, lifespan, and air and water quality through durable construction and modern mechanical interventions.
The site remained open to the public during portions of the construction, making safety and accessibility critical considerations. Extra precautions were implemented, and construction schedules were strategically coordinated to maintain a safe and functional environment throughout those periods.
Mechanical improvement was a key aspect of the renovation, which involved expanding the existing supply air ducting within the pool space. The introduction of UV water treatment systems is a modern approach to ensuring water quality and hygiene in the pool area.
This project highlights EXO Construction Group’s ability to execute complex, high-performance upgrades in public facilities. Delivered in partnership with the City of Delta and a team of trusted consultants, the renovation reflects a shared commitment to building healthy, resilient, and community-focused recreational infrastructure.
