Southill Building Systems Improvments
The project involved delivering a full suite of Energy Option #3 upgrades at an active Office of Child and Family Services building. The scope included HVAC controls renewal, air distribution upgrades, interior lighting and lighting control modernization, fire alarm system renewal, and acoustic ceiling replacement across both floors.
EXO developed a detailed phasing plan to coordinate shutdowns, access, and sequencing, using structured project management, weekly lookaheads, and strict quality control to maintain predictable progress. Close collaboration with CBRE, consultants, and building management ensured all work met efficiency, safety, and regulatory standards, including BC regulations, CBRE requirements, and waste-diversion protocols.
Work was carefully staged with barriers, dust control, and after-hours schedules for more intrusive tasks such as fire alarm tie-ins, HVAC adjustments, and ceiling replacements. Experienced subcontractors and increased supervision ensured safety in high-traffic areas throughout the project.
EXO’s disciplined controls, QA/QC processes, and collaborative approach allowed seamless integration of new systems into aging infrastructure. The upgrades extended system lifecycles, improved comfort, reduced operational costs, and delivered reliable, energy-efficient performance with minimal impact on daily operations.
