Alpha Secondary School Addition

This two-storey modular addition is being planned as an 18,000 sq. ft. expansion providing 12 classrooms and additional spaces, including an elevator, mechanical and electrical rooms, washrooms, a copy room, and connecting corridors. The addition will tie into the existing school via a breezeway connection.

Delivered through a two-phased Progressive Design-Build approach, EXO is working closely with School District 41, Thinkspace Architecture, and consultants. The team is focusing on layouts, design detailing, and cost-aligned solutions under an accelerated timeline, with construction anticipated to begin in early June 2026.

The project is designed in phases, including resizing overall footprint to meet design intent and budget goals, with key elements carefully preserved to maintain the quality and functionality of each space. This approach has been developed through close collaboration with the school principal and staff to identify essential needs.

The EXO 2.0 panelized building system with wood insulated panels has been selected to support overall project value and cost alignment. Cost efficiency is further supported by a phased procurement approach, engaging subtrades in multiple pricing phases to maximize value, alongside an aggressively managed schedule to minimize overall project duration and reduce associated costs.

The project reflects EXO’s ability to deliver high-performance educational spaces under compressed timelines and a competitive budget. It demonstrates EXO’s full commitment to address the evolving needs of a growing school community.
