EXO Construction Group is proud to announce the completion of a two-story modular classroom addition at Scott Creek Middle School in Coquitlam, BC, for School District 43. Designed by EXO and built using our proprietary Panelized Modular Building System™, this 13,400 sq. ft facility exemplifies our commitment to efficient, sustainable, and future-forward school design across British Columbia.

The project includes 10 new classrooms and 2 media rooms, supported by 4 washrooms and dedicated custodial, janitorial, electrical, and resource rooms. A defining feature of the addition is the covered second-floor breezeway, which connects the new space to the existing school building allowing students to access some light and fresh air between classes. Built on a concrete foundation, this school addition features a structural steel-frame system with prefabricated insulated panels, ensuring long-term durability.

As Design-Builder, EXO partnered with DA Architects + Planners from concept to completion to deliver an addition that meets the district’s needs while offering design flexibility that seamlessly complements the architecture and aesthetic of the existing school. The addition features clerestory roof windows which allow overhead daylight to naturally illuminate the spaces below, while Falkbuilt modular interiors bring a modern and clean aesthetic. With a focus on efficiency and the use of non-combustible materials, the facility provides a durable and user-friendly solution that supports the district’s long-term operational needs.

“At Scott Creek Middle School, we had the privilege of contributing to a space that will shape the future of young minds. As a project manager, it’s always been a core belief of mine that giving back to the community, especially to children is one of the most impactful ways we can make a difference. The design of this school, with its unique and innovative features, is a testament to the power of thoughtful, forward-thinking construction. It’s an honor to be part of creating a space where kids will grow, learn, and thrive for years to come.”
